Cambium, a circular economy innovator, tackles key environmental challenges in supply chains. Utilizing our Traece® technology, we salvage fallen lumber and transform it into Carbon Smart Wood™, a carbon negative building material
About Us
Cambium uses technology to make it easy to access material we normally waste. We work across the lumber supply chain to turn salvaged material into Carbon Smart Wood™. From arborists, sawmills, and cities to manufacturers and wood products companies, Cambium connects this material to the market while providing transparent chain of custody reporting and impact metrics. Mill Market is one of Cambium’s technology products that connects tree service (arborist) companies to sawmills that will buy their logs–providing a revenue source for tree services and a log supply source for sawmills.
What You’ll Do
This role will be responsible for growing and maintaining Cambium’s network of log sourcing partners (tree services) across the Southeastern US. To further our mission of making salvaged material more accessible, you will be on the front lines building relationships with the folks who are the first to remove the material and have the most say in whether or not it gets utilized in its highest and best use. You’ll work remotely, but must live in NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, LA, Northern FL, or Eastern TX. Roles and responsibilities are as follows:
New Account Acquisition (40%)
Respond to and manage all inbound requests of tree service companies
Educate prospective users on the log selling process
Follow up with tree service leads to convert them into suppliers
Make in-person visits where appropriate to close deals with high-potential suppliers
Maintain & Grow Existing Supplier Accounts (40%)
(This will only become part of your role once you have established supplier accounts)
Maintain regular contact with established suppliers to maintain and grow their rate of log supply
Monitor quality of suppliers’ loads, provide feedback and training to improve load quality
Documentation & Process Improvement (20%)
Record interactions with tree services in HubSpot
Accurately enter sale data into Mill Market, oversee disbursement of funds to suppliers
Work with the software team and advise on improvements to products and services
About You:
You have 2+ years of experience in a sales and/or customer service role
Spanish language proficiency highly desirable
You have an excellent memory and can easily pull specific details and facts to mind.
You are a “people person”. This role is a service role to ensure our log supply partners have the easiest process to divert logs from landfill.
You are flexible and willing to answer phone calls at odd hours (whenever our partners need support)
You do not wait to be told what to do, and instead, you bring your own clarity and proactively solve problems.
You do not need to know anything about trees or lumber! We will teach you. We are looking for sales and customer service experience.
You are willing to travel one week per month.
