Cambium, a circular economy innovator, tackles key environmental challenges in supply chains. Utilizing our Traece® technology, we salvage fallen lumber and transform it into Carbon Smart Wood™, a carbon negative building material

About Us

Cambium uses technology to make it easy to access material we normally waste. We work across the lumber supply chain to turn salvaged material into Carbon Smart Wood™. From arborists, sawmills, and cities to manufacturers and wood products companies, Cambium connects this material to the market while providing transparent chain of custody reporting and impact metrics.

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for all logistics needs in Cambium’s operations. Principally, these will be loads of logs going from a supplier to a mill. You’ll oversee the Load Board (millmarket.net/load-board) to ensure that logs are transported to our sawmill partners in a timely and accurate manner. Your most important responsibility will be maintaining strong, positive relationships with trucking companies. This will include recruiting new trucking companies to help meet our growing demand.

Manage Deliveries on the Load Board (60%)

  • Respond to all communications from truckers

  • Monitor our digital channels to ensure ongoing transactions run smoothly. If discrepancies are noticed, communicate with truckers and team members to resolve promptly

  • Monitor the Load Board to see which loads still need to be matched with a trucker. If a load has been on the Load Board longer than expected, reach out to truckers to secure a haul.

  • Communicate as needed with Cambium team members who are putting loads on the Load Board

  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with trucking companies, including periodic check-ins with all truckers in Cambium’s rolodex

Recruit New Trucking Companies to the Load Board (25%)

  • Respond to inbound inquiries from prospective new trucking companies

  • When a route needs more trucking capacity, work with the marketing team to recruit more truckers

  • Help Cambium expand the Load Board to new geographic regions by building relationships with the first set of trucking companies in those areas

Advise Software Team (5%)

  • Use feedback from trucking companies to advise the software team on improvements that could be made to the Load Board

Manage Deliveries off the Load Board (10%)

  • Find haulers for Cambium’s LTL deliveries

  • Find haulers for deliveries which take place outside the Load Board’s operational region

  • Ensure proper documentation and manage invoices for these loads

About You

  • You are highly detail-oriented

  • You are comfortable in time-sensitive problem solving situations

  • You are adept at learning new computer systems

  • You are a good listener with a bias towards exceptional customer service

  • You are willing to answer phone calls at odd hours when our trucking partners may be picking up loads

  • Building relationships is at the root of all great customer service (even if the interactions are short). You embody the mission of making our partners’ jobs easier.

  • You have experience in the field of logistics (desirable but not required)
